Public Lecture Prof. Nagasawa Ryota (Tottori University)

ITB Remote Sensing Center and Research Group of Remote Sensing and GIS, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology ITB on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 held a public lecture held in Meeting Room of Geodesy given by Prof. Nagasawa Ryota from the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Landscape Ecology and GIS, Tottori University, Japan.

Topics lecture given on the use of remote sensing technology to detect agricultural land in Thailand. Prof. Nagasawa came with 4 students.

After a visit to ITB next day Prof. Nagasawa and the group headed Yogyakarta to make a field-trip. They will visit some paddy fields around Yogyakarta.

A visit to the ITB is the first time and being planned there is a research collaboration between Tottori University with ITB in the utilization of remote sensing technologies. Prof. Nagasawa had lived in Indonesia for 5 years (1990-1994) as a remote sensing expert at the Department of Public Works (in cooperation with JICA).
