Bandung, fitb.itb.ac.id- Housed in Courtroom Prof. Goenarso (Prodi Meteorology) held the event ‘end Prof. Dr. Bajong Tjasjono H K, DEA retiring. The event started at around 10:00 am, the welcome is filled by Dra. Atika Lubis M.Si KK representative of Atmospheric Sciences, Dean of FITB represented Resources Vice Dean Dr. Ir. Rubiyanto Kapid, alumni and representatives from BMKG (Meteorology and Climatology).
After the speech is completed followed by scientific speech delivered by Prof. Bajong accompanied by the distribution of two books of his works on meteorology and atmospheric science. The themes presented in scientific papers are Education, Research, and Development of Atmospheric Sciences Indonesia. In his speech he stressed the need for research and development of atmospheric science in Indonesia in view of climate change that occurred in Indonesia lately. In addition, very few resources in Indonesia who have expertise in the field of earth science so as the need to continue to be developed.
Prof. Bajong is one of the leading fields of meteorology and atmospheric science in Indonesia respectable it is recognized by LAPAN, BPPT, BMKG, universities both within and Foreign Affairs and others. In addition, he is one of the founders of the first development field of Meteorology in Indonesia began in the ’60s until now many scientific papers have been published both nationally and internationally. His features are simple and dignified demeanor we should all follow. Devotion for more than 36 years at the ITB has produced scholars in the field of meteorology, masters and doctoral degrees in the field of earth science plays an active role in government agencies or private.
The event continued with a talk show filled questions from the audience ranging from the Vice Dean, Faculty, Researchers, and Students submitted various questions ranging from tips we make scientific work, research, weather developments in Indonesia and the impressions of the students. The main event ended with the screening of visual figure of Prof Bajong and souvenir gift from Prodi Meteorology, LAPAN and Students.
