Discussion of Climate Change, Carbon Trading, Remote Sensing &; Together GIS Mr. William Battye (GERES, Cambodia)

On the day of Wednesday, May 6, 2009 starting at 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 pm Faculty of Science and Technology of Earth to accept the presence of Mr. William Battye of GERES (Groupe Energies Renouvelables, Environnement et Solidarités), Cambodia. During the visit Mr. William Battye memamparkan GERES activities and their role in mengefisiensi use of energy, carbon trading issues including the strategic role of remote sensing and GIS technology in the analysis of changes in land cover (land cover) and land use (land use).

The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Isaac Hanafiah Ismullah (KK Chairman of remote sensing and GIS) was attended by several lecturers FITB. GERES is a non-government organization based in Marseille, France, established since 1976. GERES Cambodia is one of the branches in Southeast Asia. Some GERES activities include technological innovation in the efficient use of energy as the manufacture of traditional stoves fueled charcoal. Preparation of climate policy also the focus of this organization as a result of the phenomenon of climate change and global warming.
GERES also will proactively utilize remote sensing and GIS technology in mapping biomass. The first project undertaken by GERES in Indonesia is to map the Java biomass wear satellite data. GERES openly wants to make cooperation with several families in the neighborhood FITB like KK KK remote sensing and GIS and Atmospheric Sciences.
