6.7 magnitude earthquake rattles West Nusa Tenggara

Bandung (fitb.itb.ac.id) – Community of West Nusa Tenggara were surprised by the magnitude of the earthquake shocks big enough before dawn. The earthquake occurred this morning at 2:41:46 pm with a magnitude of 6.7 SR.

Based on information from BMKG, the earthquake occurred early this morning (9/11), at 02:41:46 pm. An earthquake measuring 6.7 magnitude at a depth of 25 km, is 28 km Northwest Raba-Nusa Tenggara Barat / NTB, center of the earthquake was at 8:24 coordinates LS – BT 118.65. The same information is also issued United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Nusa Tenggara is part of the 25 regions of Indonesia are prone to earthquakes, several other areas, namely, Aceh, North Sumatra (Simeulue), West Sumatra – Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten Pandeglang, West Java, Bantarkawung, Yogyakarta, Lasem, East Java, Bali, NTT, Aru Islands, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Sangir Talaud, North Maluku, South Maluku, Papua Bird’s Head-North, Jayapura, Nabire, Wamena, and East Kalimantan.
