Bandung, fitb.itb.ac.id (28/04) In commemoration of Earth Day which falls on 22 April 2015, the Faculty of Earth Science and Technology in collaboration with several agencies have always held a variety of activities each year. For 2015 the activities consist of seminars, ceremonial commemoration of Earth Day, a public lecture, geography and geosciences Olympics and sport bikes.
At the peak of 22 April 2015, in his speech, Chairman of the Committee of Earth Day 2015 Dr. Syamsul Bahri, M.Eng always said that a series of activities organized by the FITB each year in commemoration of the earth with the aim to urge people to contribute to keep the Earth from the threat of more serious damage. Speech delivered by the then Vice-Rector for Public Administration, Alumni and Communications Dr.Miming Miharja, ST, M.Sc.Eng representing the Rector who could not attend. He said that the ITB give an important concern in preserving the earth.
The event was followed by a Public Lecture presented the Head BIG (Geospatial Information Agency) Dr. Priyadi Kardono, M.Sc with the title “The Role of Geospatial Information Support Management of Natural Resources” Start At 09.30 s.d 11:30 GMT. Then at 15:00 pm At 13:00 s.d Public Lecture continued cooperation of Earth Sciences Studies Program FITB ITB with presenting BMKG BMKG Head Dr. Andi Eka Sakya, M.Eng entitled “Climate Change: Constraints or Challenges for Indonesia 2025”.
On 24-25 April 2015 hosted the Olympic Games of Geography and Geosciences ITB 2015 national level followed by the participants of the shared areas in Indonesia. Then the other activities are Gowes Together Earth Day on May 2, 2015 to take the route G.Kasur, Bandung West to Maribaya, Regency Bandung.
