Green technology

ISU environment which was originally simply a discourse in the 1950s, precisely at the beginning of this millennium appears to be a global issue. Instantly all parties back introspect what has been done to the environment which incidentally became a creature’s life and obtaining all resource requirements.

Indeed, in defending life, human beings can not escape from its environment. Humans have always depended and interaction with the environment continuously (Bintarto, 1983). From the reciprocal relationship of man with his environment, in this case the ecosystem, humans gain experience, so he will get a picture or image on the environment. Of travel and human experience, someone will get a hint about things to expect from their environment. About what is allowed and what should not be done to the surrounding environment.

Indonesia suffered two major issues related to the environment. First, the environmental problems caused by poverty as a result of high population growth. Second, environmental issues related to destruction and environmental pollution caused by human activity is often referred to development.

Admittedly, the current development is focused on economic growth, equitable development results, and ensuring national stability. However, this pattern by environmental practitioners, Emil Salim, deemed no longer feasible. Currently, it takes a pattern of sustainable development. Motion not only give priority to the development of high economic growth, but also consider the preservation of the environment. The goal is that every activity on behalf of the general welfare will no longer cause damage to the environment.

There are some things that should be a reflection and thoughts of all parties. The tropical rain forest that has been far from its original form due to human activity. Increased CO2 gas layer in the atmosphere and the depletion of the ozone layer, causing global warming.

Global warming threatens the destruction of coral reefs in the Coral Triangle (coral triangle) in six countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and the Philippines. Damage to the coral triangle is feared to damage the livelihood of local communities in the surrounding areas. Indonesia as a country that has the largest coral reefs in the world, which is 51,000 square kilometers or 20% of the world’s coral reefs, but around 50% in a badly damaged condition.

Similar conditions also occur in the mangrove forest in Indonesia. About a quarter of the 4.5 million hectares of forest mangrove in Indonesia situation is more dire. Over the land with mangrove tree clearing has worsened the condition of coastal Indonesia a potential resource.

Environmental issues also haunt urban areas. Air pollution in major cities threatens the health of citizens. Symptoms of health problems in infants affected because of lead from gasoline fuel to be wary. The city was experiencing a clean water crisis at some point.

Environmentally friendly

Developed countries such as Germany and South Korea has sought to maximize the safety of the earth’s role in the future. The program refers to green technology, a practical application of technologies aimed at the method of use of materials and production processes that produce non-toxic and safe for the environment. This environmentally friendly technology can take the form of innovative application products that do not harm the environment and are not toxic to the human body.

In early 2009, the South Korean government to invest 38 billion US dollars for the next four years through environmentally friendly development in the country. “Green New Deals” is a program to create jobs and stimulate economic growth with care for the environment. The program includes 36 projects, including the construction of a bicycle path network worth 11 trillion won, the construction of “Green Homes” for saving energy by using gas from waste as well as the development of hybrid vehicle technology.

So is the German who pioneered the use of renewable energy becomes attractive and economically since the 1990s. This policy bore renewable energy legislation that provides incentives for the use of renewable energy. The Federal Government has endorsed the program of energy conservation and integrated climate at the end of 2007. The aim pursued is to decrease CO2 emissions by forty percent.

The success of these countries seem to stand at the policy more concrete in action and not rhetoric on the word in the text only policy. Apparently, this kind of thing is a chore and our collective duty to continue to oversee any government policy or program to the Earth a better Indonesia in the future. ***
