5.0-magnitude earthquake in North Sumatra

fitb.itb.ac.id earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale (SR) occurred on Friday afternoon at 12:18 pm centered at 127 kilometers southwest Tanahbala, North Sumatra.

Report of Meteorology and Geophysics (BMKG), also mentions the position of the earthquake at 1.16 degrees southern latitude-longitude 97.51 East, located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The quake that no potential to cause a tsunami, is also centered at 149 kilometers northwest Siberutmentawai-West Sumatra, 151 kilometers southwest Tanahmasa-North Sumatra, 264 kilometers northwest Sipuramentawai-West Sumatra, and 272 kilometers southwest Gunungsitoli North Sumatra.
