1st International Seminar of Environmental Geoscience 2011

Starting from signatories “Agreement of Academic Exchange” between the Faculty of Science and Technology of Earth (FITB) ITB and the Faculty of Science, National University Corporation Ehime University on 21 July 2009, then since that time has launched a plan to hold events symposium or seminar run simultaneously between the two faculties. The seminar was finally realized on Wednesday and Thursday, 5-6 October 2011, with the name 1st International Seminar of Environmental Geoscience 2011, or abbreviated ISEGA 1st, 2011.

The first seminar is intended as a means of sharing pengetahuandan experiences among participants as well as a means of establishing cooperation research more. The seminar was opened by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Ahmaloka, which was preceded by a report from the committee chairman seminar Prof. Emmy Suparka. At this seminar there are as many as three keynote speakers, 16 oral presentations were selected from a total of 37 abstracts were accepted by the committee, and several poster presentations. Three keynote speakers are Prof. Dr. Masayuki Sakakibara (Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ehime University, Japan), Ir. Today Widjajanto, Senior Vice President Gold Mining Business Unit (UBPE) Pongkor, and Dr. Dr. Matthias Dorn, Project Team Leader, Indonesian-German Technical Cooperation: “Mitigation of Georisks” (Georisk Project). Aside from Japan, Germany, and Indonesia, the seminar was also attended by participants from Vietnam (Vietnam National University, Hanoi University of Science) and Laos (University of Laos). The seminar was closed by the Dean of FITB, Prof. Eddy A. Subroto, which is preceded by the submission of resumes results of the seminar by the chairman of the committee.

As a follow-up to this seminar, planned to create a post-conference proceedings containing papers complete with a joint editor FITB among experts from ITB and the Faculty of Science, National University Corporation Ehime University. Besides, it has also planned to hold a ISEGA 2nd, 2013 in Vietnam or in Japan.
