Bandung, fitb.itb.ac.id (4.24) In commemoration of Earth Day in 2013 the Faculty of Science and Technology together with the School of Earth Sciences and Biological Technology (SITH) ITB held a series of activities with the theme this year is “Green For Better Sustainable Earth Resources “. The series of events starting from the date of 20 April 2013 s.d May 5, 2013 consists of Gowes Geologists IV, Tree Planting, Exhibitions, Seminars, Public Lecture of the Minister of Forestry of Indonesia, as well as the Olympic Games of Geography and Geosciences high school / equivalent. An honor for the Institute of Technology Bandung for a ceremony to commemorate Earth Day 2013 was attended by the Minister of Forestry Zulkifli Hasan, SE, MM. Located at ITB Jatinangor Forestry Minister, Rector of ITB, Head of Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) and a series of other dignitaries initiated activities on foot toward the planting of trees. While walking the Minister of Forestry reviewing the condition of the campus and give appreciation to the management of ITB campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang.
After planting trees Minister of Forestry of Indonesia to give a public lecture at the House GKU ITB Jatinangor and a signatory to the ministerial decree on the Management Gunung Geulis, Jatinangor Sumedang as Forest Education by ITB, which was attended by students (ITB, ITERA and UNPAD) and other invited guests, in lecture Minister of Forestry invites all components of the nation’s planting trees in order to remain sustainable environment. Ministry of Forestry itself one of the program is the planting of 1 billion trees. Before leaving campus Forestry Minister reviewing the exhibition involving Expertise Group / Scientific at ITB, Geospatial Information Agency, School of Earth, the forestry and other institutions.
After the Public Lecture activities continued with a seminar by presenting the BIG Head Dr. Asep Karsidi, Secretary of the Council on Climate Change, Agus Purnomo, MA, MBA, and representatives of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy. The series of events commemorating Earth Day in 2013 alone will end with the Olympics Olympic activities Geography and Geoscience on 04 and May 5, 2013.
