Demi Bandung Geology

KRCB was first established December 12, 2000. The goal is to provide “something” which means to Bandung, a city well-loved residents. “Because we are mostly members of geologists, then contribute ideas about geology also we want to give to Bandung,” said Budi.

Initially, said Budi, in 1999 some faculty and alumni of the Department of Geological Engineering ITB feel that it lacks the knowledge of Geology of Bandung. Knowledge of Geology of Bandung, especially among the students, as if to stop the van Bemmelen (1949).

Departing from the requirement that some lecturers and researchers Puslitbang ITB Geology, Geotechnology LIPI invited as well as students to simply refresh Bandung Geology through the streets, forming groups of streets named Research Group.

The idea of these roads, according to Budi, triggered also by the experience of some lecturers and researchers who had studied in Japan. There are a group of people consisting of professors, researchers, students, secondary school teachers, and even the private sector and the people who have always held a sightseeing agenda.

Interestingly, said Budi, every member of this group has always positioned himself as “I do not know and want to know”. Trials

The books were distributed to various agencies. Including already become a new reference source about terrestrial and Bandung environment in schools and colleges.
