Earning a Perfect GPA, This TNI Air Force Officer graduated from Masters Program in ITB in April 2023

Institut Teknologi Bandung is known as one of the best public universities that prioritize technology education and innovation. Graduating from ITB with an outstanding Grade-Point Average (GPA) is difficult, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible either.

This was proven by Vaghwa Hasib Nata Praja, a graduate of the Master of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering program, who earn a perfect GPA (4.00) in the 2022/2023 Academic Year.

Previously, Vaghwa took a Bachelor’s degree in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering in 2004. According to him, the lessons and work in the Bachelor program were dominated using traditional technology, not fully digital.

Not wanting to waste time, he has been working on his thesis since the announcement of the ITB master’s degree in 2020. Vaghwa focused on improving the quality of geospatial information data in his research entitled “Passive Radar Thematic Geospatial Information Quality Analysis”. He had difficulties when calculating the quality of Indonesia’s geospatial information data. It’s an uncommon thing that had not been well socialized, so new parameters had to be found.

Some of the study tips that Vaghwa shared, always record lessons in class. He has been doing this method since taking a bachelor’s degree program. In his opinion, it’s very useful for recapping the lessons after class hours. When answering exam questions, Vaghwa focuses on questions he is good at by providing references from journals or papers. This is how Vaghwa escalates his grades in class.

“We have to love challenges because if we love challenges, they will be softened and tame”, said Vaghwa.
