Delegations of SICA and Caricom Engage in Discussions on Geohazard During Visit to Flood Risk Zone in Majalaya

In the third day (Sunday, 17/7/2023) of Capacity Building Training On Disaster Risk Reduction And Climate Change Mitigation And Adaptation workshop, delegation of American Integrated System (SICA) and Carribean Community (CARICOM) visited a flood risk zone in Majalaya to gain valuable insights into the challenges posed by geohazards and climate change in the region. The participants engaged in informative discussions with the local communities, exchanging knowledge and experiences related to flood risk reduction.

During their visit, the participants who are mitigation experts & investigators of emergency and response, immersed themselves in the community, holding discussions with the locals to understand the impact of living in a flood risk zone changed their lives and how they adapted when the flood occurs. The insightful conversations shed light on the specific challenges faced by the community.
