fitb.itb.ac.id (2-3 / 12) Oceanographic Studies Program Faculty of Earth Science and Technology together with the Student Association for Oceanography (Triton) held titled Poseidon 2010. The event was held at East Hall and Campus Center with a variety of activities such as seminars and education Exhibition. The seminar is filled by the speaker of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries temporary exhibitions, followed by educational institutions such as FITB, Prodi Earth Sciences FITB-ITB, ITB FITB Prodi Oceanography, PUSDIKHIDROS Navy, Centre for Research and Development of Marine Geology etc.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon (Greek: Ποσειδῶν) known as the god of the sea, rivers, and lakes. Poseidon has a weapon in the form of a trident which could cause flooding and earthquakes. The trident made by the Cyclopes during Titanomakhia.Poseidon also have a vehicle being towed by hippokampos (half fish half horse creature). Poseidon married Amphitrite and had a son named Triton. Posidon also is the god who created the horse in an attempt to seduce Demeter.

With these activities is expected that Indonesia as a maritime country is able to take advantage, exploit and explore marine resources for the welfare and prosperity of the people.
