Forging Collaborative Paths: MOA Signed for Hydrographic Surveyor Engineer Professional Program Between the STTAL, the Indonesian Navy & FEST, ITB
BANDUNG – Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FEST) – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has established partnership Implementation Agreement for the 2023 CAT-A Hydrographic Surveyor Engineer Professional Program with the Indonesian Navy and Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Angkatan Laut (STTAL) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ITB and the Indonesian Navy at ITB’s Rectorate Building on Tuesday (31/10/2023).
The MoU was signed by the Commander STTAL, First Admiral Dr. Mukhlis, S.T., M.M., CHRMP., CACA., CRMP. and the Dean of FEST – ITB, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc.. This event was attended by delegations from STTAL, the Indonesian Navy, FEST, and ITB. This signing represents a new collaboration between ITB and the Indonesian Navy in the field of education and community service.
First Admiral, Dr. Mukhlis, conveyed the importance of cooperation between the Indonesian Navy and ITB. In the digital era, military combat is much different from the past. The existence of technology greatly influences the success of a military operation. ITB is trusted to exchange knowledge, especially in the field of technology
The partnership between FEST – ITB, the Indonesian Navy, and STTAL is aimed to facilitate educational exchanges, promote research collaborations, and strengthen the friendship between the two institutions. The programs that will be implemented include the exchange of teaching educators, staff and researchers, utilization of related research tools, as well as collaborative research and innovation.
The collaboration has been mutually agreed upon and encompasses various activities outlined in the MoU. Everything will be based on the principles of equality and mutual trust and is valid for a period of five years from the date of signing.
First Admiral TNI Dr. Mukhlis also expressed his readiness for this collaboration. According to him, it is an honor and a crucial moment to be able to collaborate with the best and largest engineering university in Indonesia. First Admiral TNI Dr. Mukhlis hopes that this collaboration can expand and contribute more to hydrography education in Indonesia.
